Why MMORPGS Work (or Don't) @ Warcry

Head over to Warcry for an editorial titled Why MMORPGs Work (or Don't Work): Thoughts from an Aging Gamer:
Everyone's talking MMOs these days…almost like a litany of formulae for success, tumbling down the pike like so many nuggets of gold pouring out of a cornucopia of game goodness. EQ2, World of Warcraft, Dark Age of Camelot Catacombs…where will it end? Will it end? I can just hear the rap song now. We gotta game and we got it good, play dat game in da neighborhood, just slay dem dragons and get dat quest, oh man which game do we like best? rapped, of course, to a heavy, bouncing beat, complete with jumps, twists and slides. Devs can talk the talk all right but can they dance the dance? Ever wondered what made the game good?
