Computer and Videogames features a hands-on preview of Larian Studios' epic fantasy RPG Divine Divinity. There's also an interview with Larian Studios' CEO and project leader Swen "Lar" Vincke inside. This is the 1st time that Swen mentions a fixed date for the release of Divinity. It's supposed to be out on August, 9 - 2002.
Here's an interesting snip:
The big question: what does Divine Divinity have to offer over the Baldur's Gate series?
Vincke: Well, we're not really scared about that. One of the main points is the depth of the storyline, which really grips you at certain points and makes you want to continue. Interface-wise, it's dead easy to get into and has a very easy learning curve. Even people who have never played RPGs before liked it.
One of the things that it definitively has over Baldur's Gate is that it doesn't force you to go down the hardcore RPG route. You don't have to go through all the statistics and stuff, you can just pick it up and play and go and fight. If you play it this way then you can develop your character in this way.
