The first part of a Dragon Empires interview with Codemasters' Peter Tyson (Community Manager) can be found at GameWatchers Network.

Here's a snip:
GWN: What sort of transporation will be available to us? (teleportation, boating, carriages, horses)

Peter: We think there will be some limited teleportation, probably between capital cities in empires. We have to balance that with the contract model of moving goods. Teleporting will likely cost. For now, that's it. We're fortunate that people will naturally progress from one end of the world to the other. You don't have to travel miles between equal-level content, instead low content will be clustered towards one end of the world, high at the other (well that's the current plan) There are also other ways of traveling which I'm not sure I can tell you about yet ;). O, almost forgot. I heard that the new way the servers are going to be used, (which may, unfortunately, result in zoning 2 or 3 times to cover the entire world) we may be able to get boats in.
