Gamespy sat down with Yong-hyun Park (lead programmer) and Hyung-jin Kim (lead game designer)for an interview about Lineage 2. Here's a bit from the talk about this upcoming MMORPG:
GameSpy: Let's get a few obvious questions out of the way first. Why did you guys choose the Unreal Warfare engine for Lineage II?
Yong-hyun Park: We chose Unreal technology because we felt it had the best outdoor features and exceptional level editing capabilities.
GameSpy: What components have you built from scratch and what modifications have you made to the engine to make it work more smoothly for your game?
Yong-hyun Park: Everything! But mostly whereever FPS and MMORPG requirements weren't the same. For example, PC manipulation using the mouse, "seamless world" functionality, cloth customizing, time progress-light source relocation, new network module, etc. |
