There's a preview of the Diablo 2 expansion set Lord of Destruction over at Desslock's site:I'm not really sure the expansion pack is worth 35 to 40 dollars for most gamers. The added content is pretty good, but there is also a significant change in how the game plays in comparison to the current client. A bit too much effort seems to have been spent in trying to tweak and modify existing character classes instead of adding new features to the game; a translation program comes to mind due to the high volume of Korean gamers online. That isn't to say Lord of Destruction is a low quality product, but for that much money one would expect a bit more bang for the buck. However, since Blizzard Entertainment probably won't be working with the Diablo license again for awhile, it would be rather foolish to not get this game eventually if you're a fan of the series. I'll be interested to see the reaction players give Lord of Destruction initially later this month; the increased difficulty definitely caught me by surprise. Lord of Destruction is still slated for a late june 2001 release... |
