Gaming site DigitalBackSpin has posted its review of Akella's/Bethesda's naval RPG 'Pirates of the Caribbean', rating the game at a straight 50%.

Here's a bit:
Like Morrowind before it, PotC features quite a few diversions for the gamer not content to just simply follow the main storyline. The game is pretty open-ended – go where you want and take on whatever missions you see fit. You can choose to be a tool of the government or stick it to the man and become a dastardly pirate. There’s also a trading system in place to help you bring in the cash and buy yourself bigger and better ships. Unfortunately, all of these diversions aren’t exactly all that enjoyable. The side missions aren’t that engaging, and the trade system contains basically no depth – the economy isn’t dynamic as each island always buys and sells the same exact items for the same exact prices throughout the whole game.
