7/10 is the score awared to Daemonica at The Bovine Conspiracy:
The medieval setting of the game is only one of many reasons why you might mistake Daemonica for a typical Diablo wannabe. The game plays from a 3D isometric perspective, a camera type usually reserved for RPGs. Then there's the health meter in the upper right corner of the screen, a typically alien object in the point-and-click adventure genre. Then you've got potions, “dungeons,” and even sword combat. Really, the only thing missing to make this a real RPG is the loot and level-ups. It's almost as if the developer's originally set out to make an RPG, but were forced to cut back heavily due to budget or time constaints. Or perhaps they simply felt that the misleading interface would result in more sales for their game in a long ailing genre. Whatever their reasons, Daemonica's interface is as effective and even advantageous as it is superficially unorthodox.
