The folks over at HorizonsVault submitted some fan questions to Artifact Entertainment and compiled questions and answers into a feature at their site. Here's a bit for you:
Q: What steps are being taken to create and maintain a stable economy conducive to trades?
A: The supply of resources into the game is carefully monitored. Player characters generate the vast majority of the items in the world. All existing items in the world can be torn apart for their component resources. Inefficiencies in the construction and deconstruction of items remove a portion of existing resources. The Empire levies taxes on services and property, which removes another portion of existing resources. Some special structures in the world have a constant demand for resources for them to provide their maximum benefit, which further draws down the existing resources. Due to the properties inherent in many of the items of the world, not all characters can utilize items that are too powerful for their experience. |
