Mystery from Massive Multiplayer.org cornered Lyra-Myke from Underlight and asked him some questions about the sequel to Underlight.Q: What's the concept of the sequel?
A: In general, we want Underlight 2 as gameplay driven as possible. A world where events occur through natural, non-linear, non-scripted play. We don't want players struggling with systems and being drowned in innumerable mechanical choices. We want to truly make a game where all a player has to do is play the game how they like, and their character will automatically develop to suit their style of play. Upon exiting the game, players should be excited about their gaming experience beyond what items they acquired and what level they've attained.
As far as the story and content, it is truly a sequel to Underlight. Many ideals of the Underlight world will be carried over, with some familiar themes. We do want to make enough changes to make it a true sequel, but Underlight players who play both will quite likely see a connection between the story and the content of both Underlight and Underlight 2. |
