Wargamer has shot up a preview of Ascaron's action RPG 'Sacred'.
The beta build of Sacred that I’ve previewed is a mixture of old RPG-style elements (such as the Baldur’s Gate’s view perspective), an interesting storyline, as well as some original characters that the player can pick from. However, it has a few shortfalls as well, including a “get-quest-get-item-get-reward” cycle that may grow tiresome after being repeated numerous times, as well as my biggest pet peeve in any RPG: having little control over how a character begins their adventures (i.e., a lack of delineating attributes, skills, etc.) Some of the features that Sacred displays at first are actually deceiving, as this game has several interesting components.
