You can play another beta test session for A Tale in the Desert on saturday. this time it's a 6 hour session.
    Everyone,

    The next session will be:
Saturday, 7/27/2002 from 1:00PM EDT (GMT-0500) until (at least) 7:00PM

I have decided to keep the new, slower decay settings introduced last session. Buildings still take 8 hours to begin decaying, but once they do start, they decay at half the previous rate. It will now take a building
8+48 hours to decay down to 0%.

Last session, once again, was a blast. Tugament III, after some initial problems getting organized, went without a hitch. Contestants started at a new temporary chariot stop, followed a series of signs along the Nile, and then headed through a mountain pass. At the end of this run, they found themselves in a specially constructed Tug arena, featuring eight normal courts, and a single central Grandmaster's court. After a number of preliminary rounds, CerealKil and Kappa faced off for a 3-game finals match. A huge crowd watched as CerealKil defeated Kappa 2-1 to win the Tugament. Petis, upon losing his semi finals match remarked: "Next time, Witagogament."

The most momentous occasion, however, was the very first impromptu fireworks show. After months of hard work, members of the House of Bes built the first Pyrotechnics Laboratory in Egypt. Construction was completed with only about an hour remaining in the session, and manufacture of fireworks components began. After making a few batches of aluminum powder in their new Barrel Grinder and several batches of stars at the lab, Bes elder Apostrophe assembled and ignited the first two shells. A crowd watched as small rings of yellow flame floated over the Bes compound for a few seconds. Although these first fireworks looked tame, it was a hint of things to come. The Great University of Art and Music will soon introduce the Test of Pyrotechnics, and hold the first fireworks contest in the land.
Also... The stranger did what he intended.
