A preview of Heroes of Might & Magic 4 can be found at CGO today. It highlights the differences between the last installment of this very succesful series and the new game:
Resources on the overland map aren't just up for grabs anymore. To claim a resource, you have to build it up. For instance, a player who finds a gold vein has to pay to build a mine on top of it before it produces any income. There are now two levels of fog of war, so once you explore part of the map, you won't be able to see units moving there unless one of your armies or towns has a line of sight. One side effect of this is that the game will move faster, since you won't have to — get to? — watch every unit move when it isn't your turn. |
