- Shadow hound: Initiative in battle.
- Armour plate: Melee attack protection.
- Magic Screen: Magic protection.
- X-ray: Monster awareness
- Missile shield: Ranged attack protection.
- Enhanced blade: An edge for your attackers in battle.
2. Two most important spells

The two most important spells in battle is the spells "Soul
shield" and "Elemental shield". They are your number
one protection against enemy spell-casters.
3. Set-Return portal spell

All characters except fighters can learn the "Set"/"Return"-
portal spell from the "Air" realm (Saves a lot of annoying
travel time in middle and end game).
4. Bad ailment spells

Bad ailment spells are very useful in battles except the "sleep"
ailment which only is helpful as long as you don't hurt the monster.
5. X-Ray spell

Use the "X-ray" spell to detect all monsters early on.
6. Spell duration

Keep in mind that some spells have a certain duration, so check
them before and during battles - it can be fatal if they expire
during battle.
7. Use spells frequently

Use spells whenever you can. Especially, cast the protection spells
(v. magic, etc) and even torchlight with settings up in the Yellow/orange
range. If it backfires, rest and try again. The point is you quickly
and easily get critical spells up to high levels.
