Animations and Special Effects
PlanetSacred: Will there be any other weather effects except for snowfall, rain and fog?
Aarne: Lightning, thunder... you name it... well, I don't think we got hail or hurricanes.
PlanetSacred: Are there going to be water effects when walking through a puddle in the final version?
Aarne: Those effects are already in. There is a splashing sound and the water splashes off towards the sides of the puddle.
PlanetSacred: Are we going to see small clouds of dust when fighting on dusty grounds?
Aarne: Yes, we're working on it. We don't want the hardware requirements to become too steep though. That's why we still have to make a decision about this issue.
PlanetSacred: Are the death animations going to be different for every monster class? How many different animations do you have?
Aarne: Every monster type has different death animations. I guess we'll have 1-3 animations per monster in the end...
PlanetSacred: Are there going to be animated sequences like an NPC trying to drag a crate out of the dirt or something like that?
Aarne: Well, dragging stuff out of the dirt is going to be the player's main occupation during the course of the campaign. The NPCs will stay in the background when it comes to stuff like that ;-))...
Michael: ...except for the story NPCs who are eager to help the player. The regular NPCs only evaluate "how much stuff has been dragged out of the dirt" ...or in other words: They evaluate the reputation of the player in a certain region depending on the quests the player has accomplished. The reputation has a direct influence on other things like trading, other quests etc
