There is a new review of Icewind Dale 2 at GoneGold today. Their rating is 88/100, and they awarded the game a Gold status. Here's their verdict:
What it all boils down to really is your feelings about the previous Infinity Games. If you’ve enjoyed them, then I can’t see why you wouldn’t enjoy IWD2. Sure, its not terribly original, but the third edition rules add enough life to give an enjoyable experience. As for me, I love these games and would line up like a good little sheep every six months or so if Black Isle kept cranking them out. If you had reservations about the previous games, the new rules might be enough to float your boat, but you’re still likely to be annoyed by the graphics and familiarity of it all. I can understand how the game has a "done-that" appearence to those who've played previous renditions. As for those who've never played any games in the series, well, shame on you! You've really missed out, but Icewind Dale II is as good as any place to start catching up.
