Last week we asked you how you felt about the new DVD boxes to ship games and that more and more games don't even ship with a manual. The outcome is rather clear, most of you want a manual to hold in your hands.
Here are the results:
The box is ok, but I want my manual: 59.47%
I want both a large box and a printed manual: 22.81%
They are just great: 13.33%
I don't care: 4.39%
I want a large box, bit no manual

Instead of saying something about this I just give you two of the comments we received that explain it all:
Part of buying the game is to also have something to hold in you hands, as well as to interact with through your PC.
This is where the manual comes into its own, not just with the words but with the lavish pictures and drawings poured into every page.
It is an important part of my toolkit, a sort of 'ticket' to the playing the of game.
When you have had your backside well and truely kicked you can leave the computer and find solice within the manual. I really feel that RPG type of games demand a manual and than it should be obligitory for it to be included.
Pdf format is great but if that is the only option then a stack of paper and several ink cartridges is my next stop...

I'm all for reducing packaging as CR-ROM based games don't need hige boxes - BUT!!! .pdf manuals suck. I can't be bothered to pint them out and therefore don't refer to them anything like as often as I would if it were supplied as a booklet. MMIX is a good example of this and I have found getting basic game info is a real pain.

And now to the new poll. Last weekend we updated the forums, so the question of this week is about that.
