Age of Wonders 2 Review at Gamespy

Another high mark is the result of the review of Age of Wonders 2 at Gamespy: 89/100. This is their summary:
It's hard to find much fault with Age of Wonders 2 as a whole. The interface could be a bit cleaner. There desperately needs to be a "restart mission" button in case you want to start over from scratch. Renaming your heroes and cities would also help to keep track of things once the game turns mount up and you have cities sprawled all over the map.
In the end, however, the massive amount of unit and race variety coupled with an aggressive (albeit at times quirky) AI, full editing capabilities, a boatload of spells, engaging combat, and rock-solid game mechanics make for a strategy game that is not only better than the original, but arguably the best turn-based strategy game released this year.
