The best Ultima ever made! Its Wizardry with cities and wilderness. It has a music score that hooks you. You'll never get The Wanderer out of your brain (I haven't for 20 years). No game captures D&D type roleplaying so expertly on a computer. Its never crashed once!

One of the true classics of rpg history

Ah, the mispent days of my youth. I played this game for months! I loved it.

I would LOVE to see this game updated. I recall having a true blast with it.

All that work lead tot he great ending. What a strange child. Could you really get double speed from a horse by yelling giddyup?

Tone has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Tone)

First Ultima game I played and first computer game to keep me up to 4AM to see what's around one more corner. Just one more room, then I'll sleep. One more person, I'll talk to one more person then call it a night.

This game has simple graphics but back in the day it was so addictive I almost failed every course in grade 9 ;) Man if only the company that owns the Ultima games had the brains to do modern day remakes with some added plot features then this game would be not only be RPG of the last century but also this century.

RPGDon has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from RPGDon)

One of the few games I've replayed. The game had the familiar 3D dungeons, one of the first that weren't randomly generated. The game was incredibly ambitious and had no bugs which was rare for a game of its size. The TSR folks never could catch up to the quality of htis game till Baldur's Gate. The unique thing about this game are the "tile" graphics which allowed for a surface system not usually seen in RPG's - it was ripped off a zillion times especially by Japanese console games.

Great game, groundbreaking for it's time. IMO The second best game in the Ultima series ever made. The best of course being Ultima V..:)

What got me hooked onto RPG!

This game helped pave the way for what made the Ultima series great.

One of the best games in the greatest rpg series ever!!!

Nico has rated 5/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Nico)

I prefered U6, U7 by far

Shyguy has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Shyguy)

The best of the first trilogy, was hampered by the lack of technology of the day. This was the first Ultima to feature a party of adventurers, which added the stretegic element missing from the first two. The world was more interesting and the plot was the best of the three.

ultima fan has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from ultima fan)

I love ultima but, apperently ulike most others, I think this one was less interesting than 1 and 2, and certainly not as good as 4,5,6,7.

invictus has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from invictus)

Not really so good. Later Ulimas better. 3rd person just didn't work with low res graphics.

Stolgard has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Stolgard)

Your average old game.

rolipoli has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from rolipoli)

A bad tedius game

plob has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from plob)

Best D&D type game made at the time for computer. Brought you out of the dungeon and had wilderness adventures too. Limitations of old computer worked around by using zoom ins. Something he should have kept for later versions of the game. The next one would be a gestalt ship for RPG's in general. TSR really missed it when these games were selling so well.

my first ultima game, loved it, and made me play the best of all: ultima4!!! Which should simply be number one in this list, no questions asked..

Getting pulled into the underworld was the best twist in a game that I had ever encountered to that point. A true classic!
