Here's a snip from RPGvault's feature intro: Created by Beenox Studio, a small developer located in the predominantly French-Canadian city of Quebec, Pillars of Garendall is a two-dimensional RPG that focuses on its storyline instead of flashy animation. Depicted on its official site as an epic action-oriented RPG, it is set in the kingdom of Garendall where the capital of Gidolan Keep has come under attack by a frightening horde of enormous monsters that tower above even the tallest buildings, and the people of the city have retreated back inside the castle walls. The ever-resolute Queen Adriana has dispatched her fastest messenger to warn the nearby communities and to rally more troops to the cause before it's too late. As this courier, the player must traverse several dangerous areas and complete many quests in order to find a way to save the realm.
