Despite being a Russian item, I've included this demo of Nival's 'Evil Islands: Forgotten in Astrale' from 3D Gamers in case it heralds future activity in this title. 3D Gamers' newsbit indicates some uncertainty whether this is an expansion to the original Evil Islands or not - I rather enjoyed the original, so I'd appreciate if one of our Russian readers could indicate what the deal is.

Update: Thanks to Eddard Stark from CRPG.ru for coming to the rescue. Here are the details:

So it is a stand-alone addon (expansion). The action takes place on 4 islands. 3 of them are the ones from original Evil Islands, and the fourth one is brand new. Well, actually we have an absolutely new story line and new main heroes. Yes, heroes - there are two of them now. Kir-Chit-la (Kir) has a female companion - During the game we will visit already familiar locations and meet familiar NPC's. There wiil be battles with more than 80 characters taking part. And the role-playing system was a bit changed - now characters have classes. Unforunately, there are no plans therefore to publish this addon in Europe or UK. But there is a chance it will be included in the Gold edition if there will be one. It's still a big question. In Russia the game will be released in the second part of January.
You can grab some screens here at CRPG.ru . I asked Eddard about the bizarre delay; it seems this is being made by a group that created a an unofficial Evil Islands so it's probably a pretty cheap development. Again, thanks to CRPG.ru for the info, even though it looks like another Russian project we won't see.
