RPGVault has conducted another interview with Morrowind Project Leader Todd Howarth, this time about Weapons & Armor:

Jonric: What basic characteristics will weapons have? Will weapons become worn or damaged, and if so, can they become worn or damaged beyond repair? Will there be any unusual weapons specific to Tamriel or Morrowind, and what are a couple of interesting ones?

Todd Howard: Weapons get rated for damage in three categories, Chop, Thrust, and Slash. The harder you swing them, the more damage they do. They also have speed and weight, which affect how fast you can swing them and how much they fatigue you when swung hard. They can also get damaged, which reduces the amount of damage they do. They can be repaired of course, to keep them in good working order. A weapon can become "broken" which means you can't use it until it's repaired, but it will not "go away". There are many unusual ones including the chitin weapons and glass ones. There is some great art showing off some of the weapons on our Elder Scrolls website: www.elderscrolls.com. Check the Items section of the Codex.
