Today's Anarchy Online site update reveals a little bit more about the upcoming AO storyline:
“I think our players will be surprised by how we’re going to introduce and build on the story,” Tornquist continues. “New locations and zones, cities, dungeons, quests, and new characters will be added on a continuous basis, together with in-game events and a storyline that’s communicated outside the game.”
Like a TV show (which Tornquist likens this to), the AO story is told in an episodic format, starting in late October and continuing until May of next year, when the series’ first season wraps up.
“We’ll have a gradual build-up prior to the start of the season,” Tornquist promises, “and next summer’s hiatus doesn’t mean we’re closing down the game. There’ll be new things happening on a regular basis all summer, leading up to the launch of season two next fall. And of course,” he adds, “we’re going to end the season with a major bang, a real cliff-hanger.” But you’re going to have to wait until the end of May next year to see exactly what that means! |
