ReviewGamer has reviewed (what else would they do?) Mad Doc's DS expansion, Legends of Aranna. With an overall score of 7.8/10, here's taste:
Unlike the original, it is from the very beginning that you learn about your main quest – to return to Staff of Stars the great skeletal creature has stolen. Although you have no idea of your hidden strength or your shrouded past, you set out on your pursuit with a heavy heart as you leave the village you grew up in behind. There are also many side quests that you are free to explore, like the fate of your adventurous parents and the outcome of an entire extinct civilization. One major complaint with the original was the lack of an involving story. Unfortunately, the story isn’t much more involving than the original, and at most times its presence is virtually non-existent. However, there are still those occasional moments when the story elements truly shine, bringing back the memories and the glory of the original.
