With the release of the recent DAoC "Guild" patch, VoodooExtreme's Apache has kicked up some thoughts on where the game is headed:
The problem with guilds in Dark Age of Camelot is that a lot of guilds have hundreds of thousands of guild bounty points saved up; wouldn't mind merging guilds with others, but are afraid of losing all of the mojo they have acquired over the years which is very understandable should they leave. Guild bounty points in Dark Age of Camelot are spent on claiming keeps and upgrading them; the more points you spend, the tougher the keep is. It's pretty much the last line of defense in the frontier to protect against invasion. Personally, I'd rather quit the game before giving that kind of shit up. It just ain't gonna happen.
