It's no exaggeration to say that super-powers are the very heart and soul of Freedom Force. El Diablo bereft of his pyrotechnics might still be an interesting character, but he just wouldn't be the same without the ability to turn cars and mailboxes into exploding fireballs. The Ant without his acid grenades would be like a day without sunshine. (I was going to say "like heartburn without an Ant-Acid," but I'd be killed if I said that.)
