The Armchair Empire has interviewed Evillusion's Raphael D. Groulx about his company's upcoming Bible inspired RPG 'Eon of Tears'.
Here's how AE touches a err.. "touchy" topic:Armchair Empire (AE): I have to admit that the idea of playing a game using Jesus or Moses as the main character sounded completely off-the-wall when I first heard about the game. How do you plan the address those who may suggest that the game is simply a means of preaching moralistic Christian values?
Raphaël D. Groulx (RG): The reaction you had about Moses and Jesus is exactly what we wanted: a surprise for everyone. About the game being moralistic, let’s just say it’s really not an issue. We’re just not into that. The scenario uses the Bible as a basis but the moralistic approach is only a way of presenting things and that we didn’t use. All scenarios based on religion are not necessarily moralistic and can just be plain fun, take the movie Dogma for example. After that, if some are still suggesting the game is about Christian propaganda they’ll just have to play it to see it’s not. |
