JoWood's "UberAdmin" Plex keeps on adding new Q&A's to the FAQ at the German Gothic II forums.

Let me once again try a translation:

  • Q: Are you going to include as many cheats as in part 1 so we can "cheat away" from buggy situations?
A: There are no (well, almost none - we're only humans after all) buggy situations in Gothic II. But be prepared for some funny cheats.

  • Q: Does joining a certain faction have a huge impact on the main plot?
A: The plot will change, depending on which guild you've decided to join.

  • Q: Is the game world going to be bigger than in Gothic I and will there be other means of transportation?
A: The world is approximately three times larger than in part 1 and there will once again be means of transportation.

  • Q: What about class combinations? Will my mage once again be able to wield dual blades?
A: In general, it is possible to combine classes but a dual blade wielding mage is going to have high requirements.

  • Q: Is the inventory space in Gothic II limited in any way? Does the size of an item have an effect on its weight?
A: The inventory space is definitely going to be unlimited. Therefore, different item sizes don't matter.

  • Does an item's, e.g. a weapon's durability decrease when it's used often? Do items require repairing every once in a while?
A: No. A weapons' durability does not decrease with use. No repairing is needed.

  • Q: What's the currency in Gothic II?
    A: Gold.

  • Q: What about the ore which was used as the currency in Gothic I? Will it be worthless in Gothic II?
A: The ore is still valuable but it won't be used as a currency in Gothic II.
