RPGVault has done one of their nice intelligence reports, this time about Neocron. Written by our pal "Haha" (who knows more about the game than even the developers do *g*), this is a recommended thing to look at. Here's a snippit about the storyline of Neocron:
Neocron is set on Earth 700 years into the future. Nuclear war has ravaged the planet and civilization has had to rebuild itself from the roots up. Neocron is a city built to signify a new era on Earth and for humanity. Technology fills it to the brim, but so does crime and corruption. The city is ruled by a military dictatorship who enforce their power throughout the city by using CopBots.
The city of Neocron has four major districts namely Plaza, Via Rosso, Pepper Park, and the Outzone. Plaza is buzzing commercial district which contains the majority of the city's fine establishments. Via Rosso is the luxury district containing beautiful views of the sea and high priced penthouses. Pepper Park is a notorious entertainment district where you can find almost any kind of fun you want. Some of the most profitable establishments in Pepper Park are the skanky strip bars which attract all. The Outzone is the slums of the city, an abandoned district no longer in use, but inhabited by the homeless. The law is scarce in the Outzone and safety is non-existent. Outside the city lies a vast desert of rolling hills and mountains called the Wastelands. Creatures unthinkable to the human mind roam out here in search of prey. The Wastelands is a huge expanse and leads to other locations where human life can be found. |
