Here's a bit of info from the Divine forums:The survivor's special move is sneaking. That's probably the least sexy special move of the three available ones, but as with all special moves, it's power is not to be underestimated. When a survivor is sneaking, all enemies get a penalty on their perception of 50%. To put this in perspective, maybe first a little bit about the AI. A traditional approach when dealing with high level monsters is to lure them out one by one. In this doesn't really work since enemies of a sufficient intelligence are attracted by things that make loud sounds (smashing a barrel or fighting for instance) - that means that while you might lure out a monster, the sounds of the combat that follows will attract its little friends, rendering the tactic not so effective as you might expect. This is different for the survivor - if he's being pursued by a bunch a monsters, and is at a sufficient distance, he can enter his sneak mode, and because of the advantages he has when in his special move, pursuers who are far enough will stop pursuing him. The ones that are close enough won't though, and these you can lure with you making the odds a bit more favourable. In essence it boils down to this : the survivor, thanks to his special move, is actually the only character capable of using the lure out and kill method effectively. |
