A new preview has been put online at Worldofgaming.com. Here's something about the game environment:

The 3rd World game environment will be split between two modes of play: isometric when on space stations, and 3D when travelling by ship. This approach will allow players to concentrate on the style of play that suits them most (or both) thus satisfying the needs of the widest possible audience. Players who prefer life on space stations may spend their time trading with other players and founding the first corporate empires of 3rd World. Those players who are hungry for action may look towards the game’s impressive 3D engine as they travel across the 3rd World universe in a search for adventure and excitement. It is in this aspect of the game that the possibilities for players become truly endless as they choose from any number of combinations when living out their digital lives.
The developers of 3rd World have also taken a unique approach to the game’s environment by making it an AI (Artificial Intelligence) free zone, which means that there will be no NPC players and no AI controlled ships. This step has been taken to ensure players have the most realistic experience as possible when playing 3rd World; it will be built on player-to-player interactions without the reliance on NPC’s to maintain game play. This style of play will be possible in part due to the fact that the game’s environment will not be spilt into different shards, rather the entire game world and all its players will exist on a single server.
