Sid Meier’s Pirates! does more than update one of the classics among classics of strategy PC gaming. It actually manages to be highly entertaining on its own. The extremely accessible, sensible and daresay- addictive gameplay has survived the ages and helps makes for a title that is still a treasure all these years later. There are a few leaks to be found in this boat. But Pirates is generally a fun ride on an aged, yet tight ship from an age when gameplay lorded over visual splendor. But watch out! Much of your free time and productivity (kinda like this review…?) may be plundered if you’re not careful.
