Deus Ex: 8/10 points |
For a shooter its story depth kick buts, but for a RPG it lacks of non linearity and more NPC interaction and story merged to action. |
Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points |
Great RPG, the post nuclear mood is terrific, story is complex and interesting. The action worth the involvement but well it's a bit old even when it was released. I also remember bugs, included corrupted savegame, that spoil a little the fun. |
Fallout 2: 1/10 points |
It's just a copy of Fallout. Team shouldn't do choice like that. Fallout was great, Fallout 2 is just a copy and it's boring. |
Gothic 2: 10/10 points |
In fact I played the add-on, NOTR but I don't see it in the list. So the best RPG from far, there living world takes its meaning and the add-on add even more density. |
Gothic 2 - Die Nacht des Raben: 10/10 points |
I played this version in another language. So just the best RPG from far even if for the action, only the close combat system is great. Not the best story line but living world takes its meaning there and the add-on adds even more density. After that every other RPG look a little artificial. The best is that despite the extreme complexity, it's hard to find any quest bugs. |
Planescape: Torment: 3/10 points |
Repetitive dungeon/action it's why I gave up this one very fast. And complex story line didn't help. In fact so complex that it was quite tough to understand. No surprise that a sequel has never been released. |
Ultima Underworld 1 - The Stygian Abyss: 9/10 points |
Without a doubt one of the best rpg I ever played. But the amazing controls take and important place and couldn't work in a fullscreen so are impossible to reuse in modern games. Story stuff and NPC dialogs are far to match the density of few recent RPG but the integration of action /exploration/puzzle/story is exemplary. |
