Neverwinter Vault has posted up the 3rd Gencon 2001 report focusing on Neverwinter Nights today. The interview was conducted with Aidan Scanlan, a designer at Bioware. The interview mainly focuses on the scripts that can be used in NwN. Heres a snippet:
RBB : Do you think the NWScript language is pretty much nailed down now, or will there be more language syntax changes before release?
Aidan : The language isn't nailed down. The core backbone—it's C based—has been pretty much nailed down. But the functionality of it is expanding every day. I personally work a lot with the scripting language. I'll be trying to implement some part of a module, I'll get to the point where I say "hang on a second, it would be really nice if it had this functionality." So I'll walk down the hall to Mark Brockington's office, and "hey, can I have this function?" [deep voice] "Yes, yes you can." Every day this happens. The language is growing. There's going to be a lot more functionality to it than we have right now, there's more than we had last month, there's going to be more next month.
You can find the lengthy interview right here.
