VGO Network's Stephen Baudier imparts his rather interesting impressions re Flagship Studio's upcoming FPS/RPG hybrid, Hellgate London...
Hellgate isn’t exactly a straightforward FPS either, it’s really more of an RPG that just happens to be played (mostly) from the first person perspective with guns. The final version will have several character classes to pick from, shops, stats, armor, and most assuredly a story. Unlike many conventional FPSs, so long as your aiming reticule is pointed somewhere in the vicinity of the monster, the bullet will fly there. Hitting and missing is based off of a formula and your character’s stats just like in many RPGs. Killing monsters will net you experience points which will in turn level you up and give you access to increased statistics |
