Throughout the next several months, SOE is going to launch a barrage of updates to EverQuest II, and it's more than likely that the game will be radically changed after it's all over. Come June, the second adventure pack for the game will launch, and it will introduce a couple of minor -- yet potentially far-reaching -- enhancements to the gameplay. Later in June, Station Exchange will go live, which is the SOE-sanctioned eBay-style auction-site through which players can trade their in-game assets for real money. Finally, come September, the game's first full-fledged expansion pack, Desert of Flames, will hit stores. With it will come, among other things, the feature most requested by the game's playerbase: player-versus-player combat.
