Spell-born.de sent us a note to point out their interview on The Spellborn Chronicles with Community Manager Corwynn:
4. Whats the difference between Spellborn and other MMORPG's?

As I said above, it's a bit complex at times to explain given our design. Our setting is very different in terms of the opportunities it gives people for play. While other games allow you to perhaps mold the course of events, we link the exploration of the past with the struggle in the present. The two combined determine the course of the future. Within Spellborn you will see differences between the various servers based upon the conduct of the players. That's just one of many differences.

Other things we've done differently than many other MMOs include our concept of character customization, our combat/skill system (which is also customizable), the way in which we deal with five different Houses (factions, which are player-chosen and influence your opportunities in the Enclave), and even simply how we've gone about creating the look and feel of the world.

In short, we've created something unique with TCoS. Not in that we have all new features, but in how we have implemented them, and the world in which we've built.
