GameSpy reviews the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI Online.A lot has changed since Final Fantasy XI's North American PC launch in 2003. Thanks in large part to PC games like World of Warcraft, City of Heroes and EverQuest II, MMOs have seen their first significant evolution, ushering millions of new players into a genre previously populated by the hardest of the hardcore. Despite this, the MMO genre hasn't seen much action on the console front apart from a couple of key exceptions (the PS2 version of Final Fantasy XI being one of them). Not content to see its long-running and admirably successful MMORPG on only two platforms, Square Enix has decided to let Final Fantasy XI mark its first foray on the Xbox 360. Had it taken place during the previous console generation, this would have been quite monumental. But despite the affection that its devoted playerbase has for the game, FFXI is no spring chicken.
