HomeLanFed has posted up its first beta impressions of Asheron's Call 2. Here's a snip about the graphics:
The training intros give you the first look at Turbine’s new graphics engine they have developed for use in Asheron’s Call 2. the game pretty much blows every other current massively multiplayer RPG down to the ground in terms of its graphics engine. Indeed, Asheron’s Call 2 compares favorably to land-locked games (i.e. non-massively multiplayer RPGs) like Morrowind and Dungeon Siege in the looks department. With high polygon characters, vast outdoor landscapes, high resolution textures, pixel shaders and lots more, the game makes even the ruined land of Dereth look spectacular. Some of the nice little graphical touches include swaying branches on the trees, water foam rolling on the shore and sky textures that pretty much prove that you’re not in Kansas anymore. |
