Restricted Area boasts some impressive visuals that are presented with a nice amount of detail: shadows, effects of rain, fog, smoke, dust, reflections and fiery explosions are done very well. There are some nice backgrounds too, especially in the run-down inner city that you start out in. The main character of the demo, Mr. Johnson, looks like he stepped straight off of the set of The Matrix, which is not a bad thing, mind you. Clad in a trench coat and all in black from head to toe, he certainly looks like a force to be reckoned with. He even wears his sunglasses at night, so you know not to mess with him.
