Gone Gold has included some impressions from BioWare's/LucasArts' single player RPG 'Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic' in its daily "Night Call".I think my biggest mistake with this game was expecting to be blown away from the first second. The Xbox version received such incredibly high review scores that I expected to be overwhelmed, and that's not the kind of game that KOTOR is, at least not at first. For the first hour or so, I was disappointed. The opening mission, which serves as a tutorial, is very strange--there appears to be a sense of urgency, but the mission is designed to teach you the controls and interface, which is a more slowly-paced objective. It's a bad match. The movement controls seem kind of clunky--the world rotates around you if you change directions while running instead of your character turning. It's a small thing, but it feels quite odd. Some aspects of the interface seem somewhat obtuse. |
