IGN.PC has posted some first impressions from Asheron's Call 2: The Fallen Kings. Here's something about the interface:
The interface is pretty easy to get used to. Movement is made with the keyboard. The camera can be switched from first to third person and adjusted to whatever position behind your character you want. There are keyboard shortcuts for almost anything you want to do. You can attack with a keyboard shortcut or by double clicking on a monster. Most tasks can be performed by double clicking. You are given 9 shortcut bars where you can put commonly used special and crafting skills, which can then be used by hitting the appropriate number key. The map is interactive, showing your current location and all the points of interests, portals and towns in the vicinity. It is scrollable, so you can view all of Dereth section by section. There is radar available, which shows everything in range from monsters to portals. Your health and vigor bars are easily identifiable and there is also a level bar that shows how close to your next level you are. The only thing on the interface that really can irk is the chat window, but there are already improvements planned to make it better. The problem with the chat window is it is it blends in too well with the game and often, you won't notice that someone is trying to speak to you. |
