I don't envy the job that Turbine has in front of it. The MMO developer whose most recent release was Dungeons & Dragons Online is currently taking on another of the most beloved fantasy universes ever created: Middle-Earth. The universe created by J.R.R. Tolkien isn't just another generic fantasy; it's the original, the prototype for all the modern fantasies that followed in its footsteps. Compared to the passion shown by Tolkien fans, the Dungeons & Dragons crowd is just a bunch of weekend hobbyists.
