RPG Vault has put up the second 'Auto Assault' Roadhouse report.
Auto Assault is the vehicular combat-themed online world in development by Colorado-based NetDevil. It takes place in the time after a cataclysm has turned Earth from a fertile world into a desolate one where survival can never be taken for granted. Three racial factions are locked in a deadly struggle for supremacy. Having emerged from their subterranean shelters, the Humans have placed their faith in genetic engineering as the means to gaining dominance and restoring what they believe to be the traditional order. The Mutants are of a rather different mind. They consider themselves the results of superior evolution, and that this means their pre-ordained destiny is to rule the planet. Meanwhile, the Biomeks champion the ascendancy of technology over nature. As a result, they are constantly in search of ways to enhance and even to replace their natural abilities.

The continuing armed conflict among these three is, of course, the central element driving the game. Players will do battle using a wide-ranging selection of cars, motorcycles, semis and even tanks, all of which are expected to be highly customizable, with numerous functional options such as weaponry, armor, engines and more. In addition, there will be many alternatives of a purely aesthetic nature, allowing each vehicle to look and feel unique. The action promises to be fast-paced and exciting, with the Havok physics engine furnishing the ability to make exhilarating jumps, send objects flying and even blast different parts of the terrain such as bridges, buildings et al with rockets. Visually, the art we've seen has been imaginative, the screenshots impressive and the actual gameplay even more so, making us increasingly vigilant in tracking the title as development moves forward.
