Gosh, has it really been since late february that we heard about this upcoming futuristic RPG? Anyhow, The Adrenaline Vault (I like their new design) has published an interview with Silverback's art director and co-founder Steve Macomber. Here's something from that interview:
Harbinger has been called Diablo within a futuristic setting. Why do you believe this comparison is being made and how accurate is it?

Diablo is one of our favorite games, so it's flattering to have our work compared to it. We share the same genre, so it’s also somewhat expected. In my mind, the best thing about Diablo is the great style of the world. We respect Blizzard’s extreme attention to detail. From an artist’s standpoint, this is what we’re trying to match. Regarding gameplay, our focus is vastly different than Diablo’s. We’re shooting for a very tight single-player experience with more emphasis on story and the player’s actions having real consequences.
