Nah... the queen is still there but 'Guild Wars' is dominating the PC sales charts apparently...Guild Wars Dominates UK PC Chart
Opening weekend sales figures show Guild Wars at the top
Thursday 5 May 2005/... NCsoft® Europe is pleased to announce that Guild Wars®, developed by ArenaNet®, has reached the number one position on the PC chart in the UK (compiled by Chart Track © ELSPA), and is enjoying similar success across Europe.
Early indications on individual retailer charts showed that Guild Wars had gone straight to the number one spot on Play.com and SimplyGames.com. Topping the PC chart has confirmed NCsoft's success across the board in the UK. In addition, retailers Alapage.com (France), DVD.it (Italy), Webhallen.com (Germany), Amazon.de (Germany) and Amazon.fr (France) have also listed Guild Wars as their number one title.
Thanks to the ground-breaking no-subscription-fees-required olicy and unique emphasis on immediate action, not grind, Guild Wars is enjoying a level of commercial success that matches its already gathering critical acclaim.
"We are overjoyed with the success of Guild Wars in its opening weekend," says Max Brown, Sales and Operations Director, NCsoft Europe. "Our position at the number one spot on the UK PC charts is well deserved. We're rushing more Guild Wars stock into retail in order to meet the high levels of demand."
Guild Wars is an online role-playing game that rewards player skill. Players explore a rich fantasy game world, acquire skills, build personalised characters and compete in head-to-head guild battles with friends around the world.
ArenaNet has created a unique, global game world that invites players from around the world to play together seamlessly. There are no sharded servers, no language-specific versions of the game and nothing to keep players from exploring the game world with friends from other countries.
