Gaming Illustrated has whacked up a review of Troika's Vampire: Bloodlines, with a score of 86%. Here's the Gameplay section:
Bloodlines is a linear adventure game with RPG elements that base you in Los Angeles and make you feather out throughout a pretty large game world. The game allows you to pick up quests from a variety of NPCs, and if you're just bored you have the freedom to explore the city and what it has to offer. Combat is the core of the game, and comes often and furious with a wide variety of some of the more disgusting and imaginative monsters we've seen in a game for a long time. With a variety of skills available, such as the very popular "loot picking" your character will unmask greater evils, battle against the other creatures that go bump in the night, and go through the quests while a story is unraveled right before your eyes. It is highly recommended that gamers download and install available patches for Bloodlines, as there are reports of bugs in the initial ship of the software.

Nonetheless, the gameplay was pretty straightforward and fun for a haunting experience that will sometimes put the hair on your arms on end.
