Beyond Divinity Peek of the Week #20 is up at RPG Vault with Level Designer Alex Van Ooteghem describing the creation of the imp villiage in BD:Creating the imp village for Beyond Divinity was my first task for the game. Of course, I went to Bronthion, our story lord, to get some info about the imps' lifestyle and trends. Since they don't have any real sense of architecture and because they are quite lazy, their homes couldn't be just made out of stone or wood. Instead, they had to be piles of junk in the shapes of houses. The stuff they used for building their houses wasn't created yet because we still had to take care of the concepts for vegetation, etc. This meant creating the imp village was pushed back to a later date, because I had to start by creating the building blocks, in this case the vegetation, first. |
