Haden "Shug_Ninx" Blackman, Lucas Arts Producer, has posted issue No. 16 of his Shug_Cubes to the official developer board. It´s one of the longest posts I´ve ever seen on any board and is titled "Wookiee Grooming cut from Features List!!!". Deals with a lot more though, mostly compiled from recent fans´ questions and concerns. Here´s a snip:
It´s Saturday and I´ve spent most of the day reading the boards and following up in various threads by doing some research into the continuity. Let me start with a few notes on what I´ve been doing in relation to Star Wars Galaxies lately... As you can probably guess, the designers generate hundreds (if not thousands) of pages in design documents. I´ve been systematically reading each one in order to provide feedback to the designers and update LucasArts on the game´s progress in various areas. Recently, I spent a great deal of time going over documents on Commerce and a number of skill trees (including medic, cooking and hair-dressing).I´ve also been working with Cinco, via e-mail, to outline key locations for the worlds we´re hoping to include. Tatooine and Naboo are already fleshed out (thanks to the numerous published sources and the films), but just like the rest of the team (and fans) I do have areas that I really want to see (Fort Tusken anyone?). We´re trying to make sure that we hit all the major locations (Mos Eisley, Jabba´s Palace), and then throw in some additional "new" sites as well to provide a sense of discovery. We´ve just started to tackle the next two worlds on his list. In addition, I´m writing up some notes about the criminal underworld in Star Wars. I´m covering things like: how various criminal groups relate to one another, how they interact with the Empire and Rebellion, how they´re viewed by the local populace, how they might manifest on each of our planets (the criminal elements on Naboo are very different than those on Tatooine), etc. All of this information will be used by Cinco and the other designers to generate missions and flesh out a possible "criminal" faction for the game. It´s also very important for bolstering the Bounty Hunter profession. As we get closer to defining how the criminal elements will appear in the game, I hope to share some of my notes with you.
