More stuff from IGN - this time a preview of Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising. Here's a clip on what Perpetual have in store:
Gods & Heroes is set in the ancient world after the gods and titans had their little tiff and the titans were thrown down and put in their place. The titans weren't happy about the ass kicking they received and sat stewing in their own hate juices for a long while. When Rome began growing in power and becoming one of the hubs of the world, they decided to strike back along with some of their friends. In order to do this, they managed to exile all of the heroes of Rome, of which any players will be one.
...and adding GameSpot as I go along:
LOS ANGELES--Sony Online and Perpetual Entertainment's upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Gods & Heroes, was on display in full effect at E3 2006. Perpetual representatives described the game as "an MMO action-adventure" set in Roman times, with mythological overtones. You'll be able to choose from six different classes, including gladiators, soldiers, priests, and mystics. Player characters are actually descended from gods, so over the course of the game, you'll do mission for your gods and receive special god powers from them that can be used in combat. The god powers we saw in effect included a lot of area-effect attacks, including a "spear storm" from the god of war, Mars, a lightning storm from Jupiter, and a multiple tornado spell as well.
