Finally - the first artworks from TToEE can be seen - in a preview at Gamespy. You'll find some renderings, some monsters and some shots of people playing and planning the game with tabletop figures :-). here's a little something from the preview:
Cain said that he liked Greyhawk better than the Forgotten Realms universe (with Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale) because it was a setting Gygax made himself. Plus, magic isn't as much in abundance as in Forgotten Realms. "I tend to be pretty cheap in my campaigns," Cain said.
Every member of the Troika team that is developing The Temple of Elemental Evil plays Dungeons & Dragons. One artist is a "rules lawyer" that knows the rules backward and forward. Lead Artist Michael McCarthy is so into the look of the game that he studies the spell effects as described in the rules to make sure they look just right in the game. "These guys want to stay as close to the rules and modules as much as I do," Cain said.
